St Luke’s News
Thanks for the Cake and Candy
Last week, we distributed cake, tablet and a newsletter to many of our older members.
This was a hugely welcomed initiative by Marvin and Aileen.
So our heartfelt thanks go to them and all who helped take the ‘goodies’ out which included Fiona Cochrane, Lesley McIntosh and the Scott & Sym families; well done to all and again a big thank you.
We will be having another Quiz Night via Zoom on Saturday 6 May at 7 p.m. Questions this time will be provided by participating families and will include rounds on music, films, numbers and even astronomy!
The link will be published here and on Facebook before the events start.
St Luke’s Notes
Our thanks go to Brenda for her continued production of our ‘Notes’.
Next month it is hoped to distribute some paper copies to those genuinely cannot receive them by the internet. However, to reduce the ‘workload’ of making door-step deliveries in these difficult times, please let Brenda know if you can receive the Notes via email. Her email address is email@example.com
This Sunday’s service will be available from Saturday afternoon and will be ‘broadcast’ over Zoom at 10.45 a.m. on Sunday. This will be followed by our ‘coffee break’ at 11.15 again Zoom. The link will be published soon.
Virtual Kirk Session
Finally, Elders and Board Members are reminded there will be a meeting on Tuesday 26 May at 7 p.m. via Zoom.
Mid-week spiritual feeding from your church
This week, it is a reflection on Lange’s iconic image The Migrant Mother.
It reveals God’s love as we hear it in Psalm 131.
Possibly due to an update, Zoom had serious problems across the whole UK on Sunday. Even 10 Downing Street couldn’t get it to work!
This, unfortunately, resulted in several members being unable to attend the worship and coffee break.
Hopefully this Sunday, we will be back to normal with the Youtube Service being ‘broadcast’ via Zoom at 1045 and the Coffee Break at 1115.
Look forward to seeing you then.
St Luke’s News
On Friday, Marvin and Aileen distributed cakes to members of our congregation who are more housebound than the rest of us. They also delivered a paper copy of the Luke Out newsletter with a pastoral letter from Graham and other news.
Well done and thanks, Ladies!
After this month’s hugely popular Quiz Night, another is planned for 7 p.m. on 6 June via Zoom.
Daryl is coordinating the event which will include rounds led by participating families. Please keep an eye out for the Zoom link.
The new format service will be available by early Saturday evening and include several of your favourite hymns, prayers & talk by Graham and even a short youth address. Please view via the YouTube playlist that will be posted here and on Facebook.
Virtual Coffee after Church
Our Zoom coffee break is proving a great success with around 18 households participating. If you would like to join us at 1.15 a.m. every Sunday then click on the Zoom meeting link that will be posted here and on Facebook.
If you have problems accessing these events, please contact Graham at:
The disciples recognised Jesus, but do we?
